Measurement principle of guided wave radar level gauge KYTRD703
Radar level gauge is a measuring instrument based on the principle of time travel. Radar waves travel at the speed of light, and the running time can be converted into level signals through electronic components. The probe emits high-frequency pulses and propagates along the cable. When the pulses encounter the surface of the material, they are reflected back and received by the receiver inside the instrument, which converts the distance signal into a level signal.

The reflected pulse signal is transmitted along the cable to the electronic circuit of the instrument, and the microprocessor processes this signal to identify the echo generated by the microwave pulse on the surface of the material. The correct recognition of echo signals is completed by intelligent software, and the distance D from the material surface is proportional to the time travel T of the pulse: D=C × T/2, where C is the speed of light and the distance E from the empty tank is known, then the level L is: L=E-D
