Most solid bulk materials have poor flowability and uneven surfaces, and their resting angle may vary depending on the number and location of feeding points, as well as the feeding or discharging status. Therefore, the installation position of the radar level gauge has a significant impact on the accuracy of measuring the level value. This article will explore the six installation points of the radar level gauge when measuring bulk solid materials.
NO:1
Six key installation points

NO.1
Do not get too close to the feeding port, as the material flow is wide and can cause interference reflection when it enters the beam.
NO.2
Choose a location that reflects the average level of material level. Based on the positions of the inlet and outlet, as well as the feeding method, determine the changes in the surface pattern of the material during feeding and discharging to select the installation position. The most common is a feeding belt with one or two feeding ports and discharge ports, installed at the midpoint of the selected radius. There are two feeding belts and four feeding ports, choose the center position of the silo.
NO.3
Do not get too close to the warehouse wall, as welding seams, annular lining plates, and accumulated materials on the warehouse wall may cause interference echoes.
NO.4
Aim the radiation direction of the radar level gauge antenna at the outlet, as the lower part of the solid material is almost conical, so that the material can be reliably discharged by its own weight. If installed horizontally, when the material level is low, the microwave will shoot down along the inclined wall of the cone, making it impossible to measure the material level inside the cone. Only when installed in alignment with the discharge port can the lowest material level be measured. Therefore, the level gauge used to measure the solid level is usually equipped with an angle adjuster as standard, so that after installation, the direction of the antenna can be adjusted to point to the outlet.
NO.5
对For large feeding yards or storage yards with multiple feeding points, multiple radar level gauges can be installed. For storage yards that use mobile unloading trucks for loading, narrow beam radar level gauges can be installed on the mobile unloading trucks to accurately scan the entire surface of the yard during loading, providing reliable and accurate level data.
NO.6
To choose a position where there are no fixed obstacles between the radar level gauge antenna and the surface of the measured material, it is best to use a flashlight to check what is inside the empty warehouse. Most users have no concept of their structure and consider it empty. In fact, some silos have obstacles that cause interference reflections. In this case, program debugging should be carried out to avoid interference reflections.
